Now, according to Mike Garafolo, the Titans are going to sign receiver Adam Humphries. It’s a reported four year, 36 million dollar deal. Humphries will be heading into his 5th season in the league in 2019. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneer posted a career best 816 yards and five touchdowns during the 2018 season. He converted 76 of his 105 targets playing with Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick last season. The Titans had an obvious need at receiver, especially after the Rishard Matthews situation. Corey Davis was the only consistent option for Marcus Mariota in 2018 with Delanie Walker sidelined. Taywan Taylor, Tajae Sharpe, Darius Jennings and Cameron Batson simply weren’t good enough as a unit last season. Adam Humphries should help fix that while bringing a veteran presence to the room. Expect Humphries to operate out of the slot for Tennessee http://www.thetitanslockerroom.com/auth … ain-jersey , who will be playing under new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. This signing certainly helps the receiver situation, but I don’t think the Titans are done with the position. Jon Robinson still has a need on the outside, considering the inconsistency of Taylor and Sharpe. While this doesn’t fix the entire position, it’s a nice start. The Giants announced today that they are officially ruling star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. out for Sunday’s game against the Titans. Beckham is dealing with a mysterious quad injury that he sought a second opinion on this week. This is obviously a huge break for the Titans as they look to win a third straight and continue their push for a playoff spot. The Giants were just fine without Beckham last week in their 40-16 blowout of the Redskins last week, but that’s a Washington team that had quit before the game even started.Replacing Beckham’s snaps at receiveracross from Sterling Shepard will likely be a combination of Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard, and Corey Coleman. I would also expect to see a heavy dose of tight end Evan Engram and breakout rookie running back Saquon Barkley in this game. The Titans linebackers and safeties will really need to do a nice job in coverage against those two.The 5-8 Giants are still alive in the NFC playoff race somehow so this will still be a tough matchup for the Titans — especially on the road — but it just got a little bit easier.
